Waco Fire Station #15 Wins Fire Station Design Award

A big congrats to our Waco Fire and Facilities Departments for having Fire Station #15 selected as a Gold Winner for this year’s Fire Station Design Award from Firehouse Magazine!

67 stations nationwide were submitted, and Waco’s newest fire station earned the top honor as the #1 Satellite Facility. Judges praised the station’s clean, efficient design, featuring three drive-through bays, adjacent sleeping quarters for faster response times, advanced airlock systems, and a dedicated decontamination area that supports the needs of modern firefighting.

The award also recognized the station’s open-concept interior, cost-effective layout, dynamic curb appeal, and secure, independently accessible training classroom.

Overall, Fire Station #15 was celebrated for delivering operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and architectural distinction while serving as a true community asset!
