Who decides how the City of Waco spends its money? Let’s talk about it!

Early in the year, as city staff drafts a new budget, the Waco City Council determines the city’s goals with the help of public input. Do we need more public safety? Better infrastructure? More affordable housing?

Then the City Council holds public hearings so residents can weigh in on the budget proposal.

After listening to the community, the Council votes to adopt the budget, and the new budget takes effect on October 1st.
And then…we do it all over again!
