Waco residents came dressed to impress in the color purple to celebrate the brand new Glass4Good recycling containers at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 18, 2023.

The City of Waco Solid Waste Services Department and Keep Waco Beautiful hosted the ribbon cutting at one of the first Glass4Good containers behind Stay Classy Waco in downtown. These new purple Glass4Good containers are free and available 24/7 making it easier for residents to recycle their glass bottles, jars and other containers closer to home and at their convenience.

The Glass4Good container is currently available at Stay Classy Waco located at 723 Austin Avenue in downtown. More containers are planned to open throughout Waco within the year. Visit KeepWacoBeautiful.org for a list of updated locations.

The City of Waco is grateful to the partnership with Keep Waco Beautiful, Glass4Good, Strategic Materials, Inc., Owens-Illinois, and Pernod Ricard USA plus a special thank you to the local businesses and organizations that are hosting the purple bins. The glass from the purple containers will be taken to Owens-Illinois where it will be recycled and reused in bottle production—diverting it from the landfill.

As always, you can visit the Cobbs Recycling Center, located at 2021 N 44th Street, from 8 am to 5 pm for all your other recycling needs.
