Waco-McLennan County Library took a wild journey during spring break bringing storytime to exciting places around Waco through the Library on the Go program!

Families visited the Baylor Bear Habitat on Tuesday where children’s librarian, Cody Martin, led a beary good time with bear stories, trivia, and even the chance to touch bear fur and replica droppings. The highlight was getting to meet Indy and Belle, Baylor University’s beloved mascots.

On Wednesday, the program hopped over to Lake Waco Wetlands, where children’s librarian, Stacy Phillips, led storytime and a lively frog song. Nora Schell, the Wetlands coordinator, followed up with an interactive presentation teaching the kids all about the importance of the wetlands in our local water system.

Other stops during Library on the Go included the newly remodeled Waco Regional Airport and Art Center Waco.

Library on the Go offered a week of unforgettable experiences for Waco’s young minds. While we can’t wait to bring the program back next spring break, exciting events and programs are always on tap at the library. Visit wacolibrary.org to learn more.
