Waco Animal Control and Fire Department Dog Rescue

Play Video

Animal Control partnered with the Waco Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team to rescue a dog trapped in a ravine this morning.

Together, they saved this dog’s life, and now he (Buddy) is safely back with his owner!

We suspect Buddy, a senior gentleman, got loose, ran behind a nearby house, and fell down a deep ravine. A good Samaritan called it in (thank you!) after trying to catch him.

After the rescue, Animal Control scanned Buddy for a microchip, which located his owner and then transported him to the animal shelter. Our Animal Shelter Veterinarian, Dr. Vallon, and shelter staff assessed and cared for him until the owner could pick him up when the shelter opened.

Thank you to our first responders and Animal Control officers (on Animal Control Appreciation Week, too!) for caring for our furry residents!
