A summary of this past week’s stories:
At a special City Council session on Tuesday, May 12, Jim Holmes was sworn in to his second term as Waco Mayor. Andrea Barefield and Jed Cole were sworn in as Council Members for Districts 1 and 3 respectively.
Waco Police Department and surrounding McLennan County agencies gathered at Indian Spring Park for the annual Peace Officer Memorial Service on Friday, May 15.
The Splash Pads at City of Waco parks are now open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the summer season.
As construction continues on the Herring Avenue Bridge, a detour on westbound lanes from MLK Jr. Blvd to University Parks Dr. will start on Tuesday, May 26.The detour is expected to last about a month, after which is will switch to the eastbound side.
On Friday, May 8, Waco Central Library hosted “Tales & Tails” where visitors got to spend some time with adoptable kittens from Pet Circle Regional Animal Center.
