A summary of this past week’s stories:

City of Waco and Waco ISD held a joint meeting regarding the purchase of nearly 23 acres of land at University Parks Dr. and Jefferson Avenue, setting the stage for the Barron’s Branch phase of the Downtown Redevelopment Project.

Waco Police Department and other first responders came together for National Night Out. This annual event promotes police and community partnerships to strengthen neighborhood spirit.

On Saturday, October 4, ground was broken for the new Alice Martinez Rodriguez Park near the old Floyd Casey Stadium site. The park is expected to be completed in fall 2026.
